Aksoy Labs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Decibel Meter · dB & Sleep Sounds mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Microphone Data: The App accesses your device’s microphone to measure sound levels in real time and to monitor noise during sleep tracking. All audio processing happens locally on your device. Audio clips recorded during sleep tracking (snoring highlights) are stored locally on your device. We do not record, store, or transmit any audio data to our servers.
Camera Data: The App accesses your device's camera to capture photos and record videos with a decibel overlay. Videos are processed on-device to burn the dB overlay into the video file. All camera data, including photos and videos, are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not collect or transmit any camera data.
Sleep & Health Data: Sleep tracking data including snore scores, snoring intensity breakdowns, remedy and lifestyle factor logs, rest ratings, and overnight noise timelines are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Measurement Data: Snapshots, measurement history, hearing test results, daily hearing scores, and notes you create are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Subscription Information: If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, to verify your subscription status and manage access to the App. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and subscription status. We do not collect or have access to your payment information such as credit card numbers. The App offers the following auto-renewable subscription options: Pro Weekly ($0.99 introductory price for the first week, then $3.99/week), Pro Monthly ($4.99 introductory price for the first month, then $7.99/month), and Pro Annual ($49.99/year). All subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Analytics: We use Amplitude, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymized usage data such as which features are used, session duration, and general interaction patterns. This data helps us improve the App and does not include personal information, audio recordings, or health data. Amplitude may collect device type, operating system version, and anonymized identifiers.
Onboarding Preferences: During onboarding, you may optionally provide your birth year (for hearing age calculation) and select your primary use case. This information is stored locally on your device.
Push Notifications: If you enable notifications, we may send you reminders (bedtime, morning score, streak protection). Notification preferences are stored locally. We do not collect or store your push notification token on our servers.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it when contacting our support team. We do not collect or transmit audio recordings, sleep data, or health data to any server.
3. How We Use Your Information
To provide the App’s core functionality including sound measurement, sleep and snore tracking, hearing tests, photo capture and video recording with dB overlay features. To verify your subscription status and provide access to the App. To send you optional push notifications such as bedtime reminders and morning scores. To improve the App’s performance, identify bugs, and understand feature usage through anonymized analytics. To respond to your support requests.
4. Third-Party Services
Apple App Store: Handles all subscription purchases and payment processing. Apple’s privacy policy applies to these transactions.
RevenueCat: Manages subscription verification and entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and subscription status only. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Amplitude: Collects anonymized usage analytics to help us improve the App. No personal data, audio, or health information is shared with Amplitude. See Amplitude’s Privacy Policy at https://amplitude.com/privacy.
5. Data Storage and Security
All measurement data, sleep records, snore scores, remedy logs, hearing test results, and audio clips are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data or health information. We take reasonable measures to ensure the App is secure, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Your Rights
All your data is stored locally on your device. You have full control over it at all times. You can delete individual records within the App, clear all data from Settings, or remove all data by uninstalling the App.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
